Admittedly, Ruth has not been known to be a big fan of panel discussions. Recently, she attended one, and was reminded why. Yes, she loved the topic of this panel. Respected the people on the panel. Is a fan of the organization that hosted the panel. She still walked away a bit disappointed.
Ruth’s three panel discussion pro tips:
- Ensure that the moderator asks questions that are reflective of the answers your audience wants to hear. (Hint: stories.)
- Set tight parameters for audience Q&A.
- Ask panelists to come prepared with a succinct, two or three-minute statement.
